Seda Röder

Tales from the silent lands, created by Seda Röder, is a tribute to the legacy of John Cage and Morton Feldman, two American composers whose sonic ideals shaped the future of music worldwide. A special musical journey undertaken by three very distinct yet similarly minded personalities, Tales form the silent lands features three world premieres that create a dialogue between past and present: Two newly commissioned piano pieces by Ken Ueno and Lei Liang, and an improvisation by Seda Röder, all of which are influenced by the unique sound world and the openness of the early piano works by Cage and Feldman.

In Seda’s own words:
“This is an album about remembrance, friendship and inspiration. It is a creative response, a musical reflection upon the visionary landscapes created by Feldman and Cage that have surrounded and greatly influenced my life and the lives of many other musicians…”
